In 1971 Robert Friedland (known as Bob) established Friedland Realty, Inc. as an industrial real estate brokerage firm servicing the Bronx, Westchester, and Rockland Counties.  The company started as a one-man operation in the basement of an office building with a focus on Industrial real estate.  When it was sold to the Robert Martin Company in 2016, some 45 years later, it had 25 brokers working in 3 aspects of commercial real estate: industrial, office, and retail.

 

While running Friedland Realty, Bob started acquiring real estate.  Today, he and his partners own approximately 45 buildings totaling over 2 million square feet. of space in the Bronx, Westchester, Connecticut, Florida, Virginia, and Georgia, as well as a significant portfolio in the Midwest.

During this time, he acquired Shleppers Moving and Storage, KIA of Old Saybrook, and started a subprime lending business known as Sensible Auto Lending.

Bob, through the years, has been involved in many organizations such as UJA, ADL, JNF American Cancer Society, the Temple Israel Center, the JCC of Mid-Westchester, and the Jewish Business Network. He is a passionate Zionist and travels to Israel frequently

Bob has been married to Sheila Friedland for 55 years. They have 3 sons, and 3 wonderful daughters-in-law, and are blessed with 11 wonderful grandchildren.

 

Bob is a native New Yorker and has lived in White Plains for over 45 years. He received his BA in Physics from Bard College, an MBA from Adelphi University, and did graduate work in Physics at the University of Connecticut.
