Dina Shapiro is Chief Tax Officer at Marsh & McLennan Companies. She is a strategic business partner who brings value to MMC, its operating companies and shareholders through risk management and thoughtful tax planning. She is passionate about leading her global team of talented tax professional who help her deliver this value. As an ambassador for the Company with our industry groups and in Washington, Ms. Shapiro helps advocate for the Company’s positions on tax issues.
Ms. Shapiro joined MMC in March 2015 from American Express, where she was head of the Tax Department. Prior to American Express, Ms. Shapiro was the Chief Tax Officer at GMAC Financial Services (now Ally Bank) and had various roles in the Tax Department at Citigroup, including running its EMEA regional tax team based in London. She began her career as a Tax Associate at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).
Ms. Shapiro holds a law degree from Fordham Law School and a Masters in Tax Law from Georgetown Law Center. She received an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She lives in Sleepy Hollow, NY with her husband, Mark, her son Justin, and their two wheaten terriers, Monty and Enzo.
