Jordan Herzberg has been active in diplomacy, security, political and business affairs in
Israel for over 20 years. Serving as a track two diplomat for several Israeli Prime
Ministers, Jordan participated in hundreds of hours of back-channel negotiations with
neighboring Arab heads of state and has advised several Israeli government ministers.
Volunteering as a lone soldier in the Israel Defense Forces Paratrooper Brigade, Jordan
served in several different combat theatres, including extensive military service in
Lebanon and Judea/Samaria. Jordan currently serves as a commander in a combined
paratroop/infantry/armored division, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Reserves). In
the current Swords of Iron War, Jordan has given dozens of interviews to some of the
world’s largest print, internet, and TV news organizations, including 60 Minutes, CNN,
and PBS. From May- August 2025 Jordan served as the IDF’s coordinator for
international humanitarian efforts in the Syrian theatre. Jordan currently serves as chief
IDF Liaison officer to Lieutenant General Patrick Frank, Commander Officer of US
Army Central Command (ARCENT). ARCENT has been tasked by President Trump to
implement the Twenty Point Peace Plan.
Jordan is a frequent speaker at home and abroad on topics related to Middle Eastern
security and geopolitics. He has spoken to audiences from both the private and public
sector. Some of the organizations he has addressed include JINSA (Jewish Institute for
National Security Affairs), Jewish National Fund, Jewish Federations of North America,
Anti- Defamation League, American Jewish Committee, AllianceBernstein, and Council
for a Secure America.
Jordan has recently spoken at St John’s Wood Synagogue (London), the October 7 th
Memorial event in Kauai, Hawaii, and Congregation Bnei Torah (Springfield, MA).
Some of the other venues he has spoken at include the Buffalo Jewish Federation,
Temple Beth Sholom (Orange County, CA), Young Israel of West Hartford (CT), Young
Israel of Century City (CA), Chabad of Charleston (SC), Chabad of the Town (Montreal),
Sha’arei Tefilah/Bet El (Newton, MA),and Mahzikei Hadas (Ottawa).
Jordan has a BA with Honors in Political Science and Judaic Studies from the University
of Michigan, and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at
Tufts University, including studies at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at
Harvard University and Harvard Business School. Raised in South Florida, Jordan made
Aliyah in 1993 from the United States, and lives with his family in Jerusalem.
Since January 2021 Jordan serves as the elected representative of the Abu Tor
neighborhood in the Greater Baka (Jerusalem) Community Council.
