Justin Singer is the Managing Director and Chair of the Investment Committee at Tortoise Investment Management, a registered investment advisor based in White Plains. Tortoise provides customized investment management and financial planning advice to high-net worth families and individuals. The firm’s investment strategy emphasizes a conservative, long-term approach and tax efficiency.
Prior to joining Tortoise, Justin was a Portfolio Manager at Verition Fund Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he ran the firm’s volatility trading business. Earlier in his career, he specialized in the pricing and trading of derivatives on a wide range of asset classes. While this work was intellectually stimulating, Justin ultimately became a financial advisor because he wanted to have deep and long-lasting relationships with his clients. He takes tremendous satisfaction in helping his clients achieve their goals.
Justin graduated from Swarthmore College where he captained the men’s varsity tennis team. He also holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern Business School, with concentrations in Quantitative Finance and Financial Markets and Instruments.
Justin has served on the Investment Committee of Camp JORI, a Jewish summer camp located in Rhode Island. He has also provided advice on the endowments of multiple non-profits throughout the area. Justin lives in Westchester with his wife and two young daughters.
